Online Safety Advice |
The details you provide about yourself on this website are displayed publicly to anyone who knows the URL of your CV. Potentially anyone could access your CV page by guessing the URL. For this reason you should think carefully about the information you provide and perhaps amend it. For example you may wish to omit your house number from your address details. Your e-mail address is not disclosed on your CV page, but visitors can send you a message via the website. If you reply to this message you will reveal your e-mail address to this individual. You could receive nuisance e-mail from this individual, so think carefully before replying to messages sent to you. Similarly if you disclose your phone number you could be the recipient of unwanted phone calls. It is very unlikely that visitors to your CV will attempt to misuse the information you provide. But it remains as a possibility, so you are advised to think carefully before entering information. A good rule of thumb is only submit details that you would not mind ANYONE viewing, whoever they may be. If you think someone has misused the personal details posted on this website please contact chris@getmyonlinecv.com so that the matter can be investigated further. If you are being stalked online (i.e. receiving malicious e-mail's, or phonecalls) you should contact the police if the problem persists. They will be able to offer advice and may be able to track down and deal with your stalker. If you would like to discuss your privacy and safety online then please send an e-mail to chris@getmyonlinecv.com detailing what you would like to know more about. |
